Facilitator of Healing
Athena considers herself to be a seeker. With a bachelor degree in Biopsychology, she has always maintained a fascination with the relationship of the mind, body, and spirit, but her spiritual path has been winding and rocky at times. From Born Again Christianity to Atheism, the New Age movement to Yoga under Paramahansa Yogananda she struggled to find the Truth. She settled on Agnosticism and instead turned her attention towards science and Western Medicine. She has spent the last 15 years working as a Physician Assistant in fields as varied as neurosurgical critical care, primary care, and emergency medicine. She also has 7 years of research experience, including work in neurobehavioral studies at the National Institutes of Health. Recently, with the help of her friend of 30 years and the revelations of plant medicine, she’s had a spiritual reawakening and a renewed commitment to healing at all levels of human experience.
